Polar Ft1 HRM is a phenomenal watch to carry out your fitness plans. The accuracy of watch has no comparisons; as it is created with the specifications to constantly monitor your heart rate. The chest strap of watch is very much comfortable with enjoyable feelings of no strings attached.

The watch has a flat surface with adjustable wrist band which can easily fit up to any wrist size. The customer service offered makes the watch even more worthy of its cost. With any manufacturing defects, you can easily claim warranty and company will bear all the expenses of repairing and shipping without any extra money.

Polar Ft1 HR monitor gives you the best measurable digital display. You can easily record your average exercise time; can check out total time of exercise, average pulse rate during physical exercise. Every time your heart beat goes too much high or too much low, Watch will give an audible and visible alarm to alert you of any possible dangers.

The watch is completely water resistant and easily visible in water. So you can simply enjoy swimming with Polar Ft1 in your hand. Plus, it has the prominent feature of synching your cardiac signals to the cardiac machines placed even in remote places.

Its wide range of signal strength can give you a better connectivity even if you are moving within a town. It efficiently records your cardiac data and stores them so you can easily consult with your doctor.

Polar Ft1 has a bright back light with one button functionality. So you can set watch according to your own uses. It has a date and weekday indicator with display text in English. [usr 4.5] Polar FT1 is not a fancy kind of HRM, it is programmed with the basic features and you can easily read its outputs. It would be wrong for me to taint its image with unnecessary criticism. However, there are a few things that could have easily made me find its replacement.

It has one button that does all the control work. It could have been better if there were a few more buttons. Though it is not all that difficult to use, the one button control is a bit frustrating. Another frustration is the mode reset. In more that one occasion the monitor reset itself from heart to time mode.

There is also this cheap band that I feel is irreplaceable. Finally, I take issues with the cheap strap that must be wetted to work. Every time I’ve to spray myself with some water before I can wear the strap for it to work. In general, the Polar FT1 does best what it is supposed to do but fails on the bonus point of view.

I’ve used this heart rate monitor long enough to what it is capable of. It is great, works well and the strap is comfortable that I barely notice it. If you want a basic model and not the fancy one which ring a bell from a distance, this is the best one for you. It is cheap but offers all the basic HRM functions.

My only concerns are it automatically cycles from heart rate to time mode and to stop watch. Even though it beeps when moving from one mode to the next, it can be very annoying given that there is no way to control it. The good thing is it does not stop any function when in any of the modes. Moreover, when on stop watch or time mode, it beeps to alert you when have gone beyond of below your target.

In my opinion, this model is good for starters. It has all the basic information and it motivates a person to continue some more. With it, I’m able to monitor my effort and range.

When I bought it, I had a little difficulty understanding how it operates. There were cases when I would get diverse heart rates and as high as 222. But when I checked their online site and troubleshooted this concern, I learned that I was not using a wet chest band. So you have to wet the band for it to work effectively. Since then, the problem was solved.

The only problem I now have is that there is some delay in getting the accurate HR. This often happens when I’ve my arms above my heart or do intervals. The accurate reading comes in 2 seconds later. However, I’m still happy to have this HRM. I don’t rule out going for the advanced models, but as for now I’m contented.

[usr 5] I’m a simple guy and when I was looking for a heart rate monitor, I didn’t go for those with advanced features. Those extra features are meaningless if the monitor functions fail. To me, the value of the product is what makes it a good buy, not frills. So I settled on this fairly easy-to-use model, and I use it 6 days a week strictly on my runs. I’ve found it to be very useful in slow to tempo to maximum runs.

It is easy to navigate through the modes, from Heart Rate to Stop Watch and then to Time. The figures displayed are also trouble-free to read. Earlier, heart rate monitor strap came off many times but I adjusted it and it is now perfect. To me this model has everything I need and I can give Polar FT1 a high score based on quality, value and user-friendliness.
